Flood Damage Repairs, Reconstructing Concrete Causeways

OVERVIEW

Vision was awarded this contract in 2012. It consisted of the reconstruction of 12 existing concrete causeways previously damaged by heavy traffic loading and flooding. The structures were reconstructed to MRS Specifications in very remote areas.  Concrete was sourced from batch plants up to 500km from sites and also batched on site where required.  Each causeway also required grout pitching and batter protection works.  Vision established and operated a mobile camp for this contract with all works being carried out on time and with minimal variations. 

 

SCOPE

Some of the key constructional tasks within the project were;

• Clear and Grub,

• Bulk Earthworks,

• Detailed Excavations,

• Rock protection works and grouting,

• Establishment and operation of mobile camps,

• Establishment of mobile concrete batch plants,

• Signage installation,

• Traffic Control, and

• Detour construction.
